Mary Ann Dambrosia, 56

Mary Ann Dambrosia, 56, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Hershey Medical Center.

She was born July 23, 1957, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Thomas Arthur Dambrosia and Annabelle Marie (Baranick) Dambrosia, who survives and resides in Punxsutawney.

Mary Ann was a 1975 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School.

She was a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church.

She was helpful in supporting fundraising activities of the church, such as the trash and treasure sale and selling the homemade pierogies and Easter bread.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for more than 30 years.

Mary Ann was a kind, sweet soul and was very caring and gracious to others.

Her hobby was buying and selling antiques and collectibles, especially glass antiques.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one brother, Thad Dambrosia and wife Linda of Harrisburg; six nieces, whom she dearly loved, Lyndsey Dambrosia of Mechanicsburg, Sara Dambrosia of Harrisburg, Alyssa Dambrosia of Harrisburg and Kaycee, Taylor and Rylee Glattke and brother-in-law Eric Glattke, all of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her father and her sister, Barbara Jo Glattke.

A funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at S.S. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church, officiated by Father Simeon Sibenik. 

Arrangements are entrusted to Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

Memorial donations may be made in Mary Ann's memory to S.S. Peter & Paul Byzantine Church, 714 Sutton St., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, or to the National Kidney Foundation, 3109 Forbes Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213-3000.
