Mary Ann Bishop, 63

Mary Ann Bishop, 63, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, at home surrounded by her family.

She was born Oct. 28, 1947, in Millerstown, a daughter of the late Roy E. and Dorothy (Huffman) Ogden.

Feb. 25, 1994, she married William Eugene Bishop, who survives.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.

She was a self-employed licensed psychologist and professional counselor and had previously worked as the clinical director at the Larned State Hospital for the criminally insane in Larned, Kansas. She enjoyed her work and helping others.

Mrs. Bishop was a member of the American Psychological Association, the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors. She and her husband had a radio ministry on the local radio station called “Walking Point.”

She liked to go hunting, fishing and camping with her husband and family. She was a life member of National Rifle Association.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include four children, William E. Bishop, Jr., of Atlanta, Ga., Lynne Bliss and husband Lee of Junction City, Kansas, Lee Anne Hanson and husband John of Baldwin City, Kansas, and Sarah Snyder and husband David of DuBois; two brothers, Charles and William Knuth of Marysville; and eight grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at Brenda D. Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Big Run.

A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010, at the funeral home with Pastor John Buchanan officiating.

Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Cloe.
