Mark Jerome Adams, 88

Mark Jerome Adams, 88, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy.

He was born Friday, April 4, 1924, in Orwin, Pa., a son of the late Edwin and Emma Jane (Bendigo) Adams.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 65 years, Betty F. (Hainly) Adams.

Mark proudly served his country as a United States Marine in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was employed by Farm Bureau and Agway for 36 years.

Mark worshiped the Lord, was actively involved at Hempfield United Methodist Church and was a former member at Campbelltown UMC.

In earlier years, he enjoyed golfing, playing baseball and bowling, and in later years he enjoyed playing cards and games.

Most importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include two daughters, Lynette Brown and husband Thomas and Beverly Divelbiss and husband Wick; four grandchildren, Matthew Divelbiss and wife Betsey, Adam Divelbiss, Jeremy Brown and wife Katie, and Tiffany Fiore and husband Mike; three great-grandchildren, Lillian and Jonas Divelbiss and Mark Brown; and a brother, Eugene Adams and wife Sue.

He was preceded in death by 11 siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Campbelltown United Methodist Church, 2760 Horseshoe Pike, Campbelltown, with Pastor Bruce Lefever and Lay Minister Dianne Orwig officiating.

Interment with full military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Family and friends are invited for viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremations Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra, PA 17078.
