Marion C. Price, 85

May 14, 2014

Marion C. Price, 85, of Mahaffey, went home to the Lord, Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at St. Andrews Village in Indiana.

Mrs. Price was born June 26, 1928, in Curwensville, a daughter of the late Herman and Maragert (Powell) Cleaver.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold T. Price.

Marion was a member and assisted in the founding of Cornerstone Worship Center in Indiana.

She worked for 40 years for Stanley Home Products before retirement.

She was a very loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Marion Price was a woman loved by all. She was always there to reach out and help others and to love and care for anyone who needed it, always praying for those who needed prayer.

Her refrigerator was always full for any hungry man or woman.

Pastor Paul and his son JP can trace their calling into ministry back to Marion's faith and prayers.

Marion had two pregnancies ending in miscarriages in the 1950s.

Her desire to have a child was so strong, she prayed a “Hanna Prayer” (1 Samuel 1:10-11) and vowed to the Lord that if God would bless her with a son, she would dedicate him to the ministry early.

Paul A. Price was born Oct. 31, 1958, and little did he know that her prayer would establish a church in Indiana, Pa., that would set hundreds to flight for the Lord.

She is survived by two sons, the Rev. Paul A. Price and wife Claudia of Indiana, and Edward R. Price and wife Tammy of Ohio; five grandchildren, Paul Jr., Jon Paul, Auriahanna, Colin and James; three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Eli and Ean; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Arnold, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Ray and Boyd Cleaver; and one sister, Ruby Clapsaddle.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2014, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul A. Price officiating.

Private interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Price’s name to Cornerstone Worship Center, 500 Lenz Rd., P.O. Box 1346, Indiana, PA 15701.
