Marie F. Lindsay, 87, of Punxsutawney, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at St. Andrews Village in Indiana.

She was born Dec. 23, 1923, in Cannonsburg, a daughter of the late Raymond and Stella (Olminsky) Lindsay.

Surviving relatives include a son, Jeffrey Rubin of Germany; two daughters, Laverne (Rubin) Hooks and husband Jim of Punxsutawney and Cheryl (Rubin) Cokley and husband John of Cannonsburg; two brothers, John Lindsay and wife Kathryn of Georgia, and Raymond “Skip” Lindsay of California; a sister, Gloria Simpson of Florida; seven grandchildren, Stacey Soliday, Cara Barnett and husband Dale, B.J. Soliday and wife Flanna, Shawna Cokley, Gwenna Cokley, Benjamin Rubin and Timothy Rubin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Schenburg.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Garry Bates officiating.

Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
