Margaret R. Jordan, 93, of Covode, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at her home.

She was born Nov. 5, 1919, in Canoe Township, a daughter of the late Pearl (Smith) and Adam States.

On March 3, 1941, she married Mervin W. Jordan, who preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2013.

She was a member of the Covode United Methodist Church.

She loved spending time with her family, growing African Violets, gardening, crocheting, quilting, canning and her little dog, Oreo.

She first worked for Rosenthals and then worked in the junior high cafeteria.

Surviving relatives include a son, Ray A. Jordan and wife Phyllis of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Karen Blose and husband David of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Smith and Veda Vite; and three brothers, Albert, Floyd and Murrel States.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A private funeral service will be held at the funeral home with Pastor Paul Thompson officiating.

Interment will be in Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Jordan, to the organization of the donor’s choice.
