Margaret DuBose Hammond Marshall, 88

Margaret DuBose Hammond Marshall, 88, of Rochester Mills, passed away Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at the Communities at Indian Haven.

She was born March 3, 1924, in Pascagoula, Miss., a daughter of the late Lee Rogers and Shermie DuBose Hammond.

Mrs. Marshall was a graduate of Austin High School and the University of Texas in El Paso, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education.

She retired from the Marion Center School District after many years as a teacher.

Mrs. Marshall was a member of Graystone Presbyterian Church and the Builders' Class at the church. She was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

She enjoyed traveling, reading, ceramics and spending time with her family.

Surviving relatives include three children, John R. Marshall and wife Deborah, of Rochester Mills, James E. Marshall and wife Sheila of Cary, N.C.; and Jean Marshall McIntire and husband Jim Jr. of Rochester Mills; a sister, Lena Dorsey Hammond Hughes of El Paso, Texas; a brother-in-law, Charles M. Marshall and wife Shirley of Rochester Mills; seven grandchildren, John R. D. Marshall, Samuel T.D. Marshall, Natalie M. Przestrzelski, Benjamin T. Marshall, Amanda Marshall, Kari L.D. McIntire and Andrew J. McIntire; five great-grandchildren, Raven Marshall, Toby Marshall, Kyle Marshall, Miranda McIntire and Hayden Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Truman Marshall; infant baby Marshall; and a brother, Lee Roger Hammond.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at Robinson-Lytle, Inc. in Indiana.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at Graystone Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William D. Milligan officiating.

Interment will be at Marchand Cemetery.
