Margaret “Peggy” A. Ryen, 62

Peggy A. Ryen, 62, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Sept. 12, 1950, in New Kensington, a daughter of the late Marjorie Evelyn (Oberlin) and Paul Edgar Ryen.

She was a cosmetologist for 20 years and also had been employed as a bookkeeper.

She was a member of the Rochester Mills Presbyterian Church.

She loved being a mother and a grandmother.

She was known for her generosity and having a big heart.

She was a very compassionate and accepting woman and welcomed anybody into her home.

She enjoyed art and was proficient at calligraphy, drawing, crocheting and music.

She greatly enjoyed singing, cooking and baking.

Peggy was a very social person with many friends.

Surviving relatives include a son, Erik Ryen and wife Nanda of DuBois; three grandchildren, Kallynn, Kamryn and Zoe Ryen; siblings Dr. Allen Ryen and wife Karen of Rochester Mills, Evelyn McQuown and husband Jim of Cloe and Arlen Ryen and wife Karen of Rochester Mills; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a younger brother, Patrick Ryen.

Friends will be received from 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held 5 p.m., Sunday, June 30, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Darla Revennaugh officiating.

Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills.
