Man injured after crashing into tree

BELL TOWNSHIP — A Punxsutawney man was injured in a one-vehicle accident when he struck a tree at approximately 5:45 p.m. Sunday along Route 119 in Bell Township, across from Jefferson Machine.

According to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police, a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Steven Test, 35, was traveling southbound on Route 119 when, for unknown reasons, he struck a tree head on.

Route 119 was closed for nearly an hour while debris and fluids from the accident were removed from the road way.

Test was transported to Punxsutawney Area Hospital by Jefferson County EMS for treatment of unknown injuries.

Test's vehicle was towed from the scene by Rebuck's Southside Service with severe damage.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Elk Run Volunteer Fire Company.
