MAKE-A-WISH TO ‘LIGHT UP’ LAST DAY OF ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

December 14, 2012

The fourth day of the Make-a-Wish "Light up a Child's Life" campaign brought the organization closer to reaching its goal.

Thursday morning from 7 to 9 a.m., the campaign once again teamed up with WPXZ and reached out to the listeners, as well as students of the Punxsutawney Area High School and Middle School.

At 9 a.m., the Wish crew settled in at the Pantall Hotel. Al Lockwood, program director of Renda Radio, challenged local businesses to make a pledge and to see which business would donate the most.

Today from 3 to 4 p.m., there will be a Make-a-Wish auction done in four live segments, each one 15 minutes long.

The campaign will be broadcast from County Market from 7 to 9 a.m., then from the Pantall Hotel from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

As of 11 a.m. Thursday morning, the total raised for the week has reached $20,548.

Anyone wishing to donate may do so by calling 938-8888 or 1-877-284-9474.

Today is the last day of the annual campaign.Pictured is Lockwood (left) talking with Kayla Danch, Make-A-Wish regional office assistant.
