Mabel L. Rishel, 85

Mabel L. Rishel, 85, Rossiter, died Monday, March 18, 2013, at Mahoning Riverside Manor, Punxsutawney.

She was born Jan. 27, 1928, in Frostburg, a daughter of James C. and Amber (Hamilton) Jordan.

On Feb. 26, 1949, she married Albert J. Hudak, who preceded her in death on April 3, 1982.

She then married Lloyd Joseph Rishel on March 19, 1988. He also preceded her in death, on Oct. 16, 1995.

Mabel was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School Class of 1946.

She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church of Punxsutawney.

She was a resident of the Rossiter area since 1988 and previously lived in Ambridge and the Punxsutawney area.

She was employed many years as a bookkeeper and retired in 1988.

Surviving relatives include three step-children, Janet Niehenke and husband Russell of Home, Pa., Cynthia Einsig and husband Barry of Cherry Tree, Pa., and Cathy Sourwine and husband Rodney of Creekside, Pa; seven step-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Jean Rishel; a brother-in-law, Thomas Rishel; a dear friend and companion, Raymond Sourwine of Creekside, Pa.; and special friends John, Penny and Jonathon Pearce and Jaimie (Pearce) Hederick and husband Matt.

In addition to parents and both husbands, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph, Lee, Donald, Carl and Irvin Jordan; a sister, Hazel Rishel; and a brother-in-law, Wade Rishel.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Deeley Funeral Home Punxsutawney, and also from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the First English Lutheran Church of Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the First English Lutheran Church of Punxsutawney with Pastor Maureen Seifried officiating.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First English Lutheran Church of Punxsutawney or to the Salvation Army.
