Lula M. Covert, 90, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, March 17, 2011, at her home.

She was born Oct. 25, 1920, in Coolspring, a daughter of the late William and Alice I. (Burkett) Frederick.

She was married to Earl C. Covert, who survives, of Punxsutawney. They were married 67 years.

She attended the Chestnut Grove Independent Church.

 In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include a son, Jerry Covert and wife Mary; and a daughter, Elaine Stewart and husband Terry, all of Punxsutawney; a sister, Laura Moore of Youngsville; five grandchildren, Michelle White, Temple Atcheson, Keith Covert, Todd Covert and Patrick Covert; and six great-grandchildren, Amber Brady, Zachariah Stiver, Skyler White, Dalton White, Ava Covert and Vivian Covert.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Frederick; and two sisters, Dorothy Garvey and Grace Casterline.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date and is under the direction of the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Covert's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
