Lucy R. Stefanelli, 87

Lucy R. Stefanelli, 87, Indiana, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital, Latrobe.

She was born in 1924, in Punxsutawney, to Felice and Giovanna (Manacchio) Ciccone.

Mrs. Stefanelli was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux R.C. Church, Indiana, and the Catholic Daughters of America.

During World War II, she worked for Federal Lab making shells and flares, while awaiting the return of her soldier fiancé, Angelo Stefanelli.

Following the war, they were married January 24, 1946, and shared 61 years together until his death in 2007.

Mrs. Stefanelli was a loving and caring person devoted to her family.

She will be remembered for her contagious laughter and the many lively discussions around her kitchen table.

Surviving relatives include four daughters, Joanne Stefanelli and Nancy Magill and husband Tim, all of Indiana, Angela Ugarte and husband Ivan of Downingtown, and Donna Kurcsics and husband Rick of Blairsville; six grandchildren, Regina Stefanelli and husband Lance Neeper of Temple, Maine, Angelo R. Stefanelli of Pittsburgh, Lisa and Matthew Magill of Indiana, and Ivan and Lucia Ugarte of Downingtown; and a brother, Joseph Ciccone, Punxsutawney.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Anthony and Michael Ciccone, Mary Parise and Louise McClure.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana, where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m.

Complete arrangements will be announced Thursday.

Interment will be at in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana.
