Lucy B. Phillips, 89, Punxsutawney (Albion area), died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at the DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born Dec. 8, 1921, in Albion, a daughter of John L. and Fannie B. (Burkett) Rankin.

Aug. 23, 1939, she married Ronald L. Phillips, who preceded her in death March 26, 1988.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of the Albion United Methodist Church and its Ladies’ Aid.

She and her husband owned Ronald L. & L.B. Phillips Manufacturing in Albion.

Surviving relatives include three children, Beverly J. Wright of Brockway, Dr. Terry Phillips of Gig Harbor, Wash., and Dan Phillips of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald John Phillips; two brothers, Harry Rankin and Isaac Rankin; and a sister, Nora Rankin.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Harold Brunner officiating.

Interment will follow at Ridgemount Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies’ Aid at the Albion United Methodist Church.
