Louise J. Brosius, 87, Brookville, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

She was born May 4, 1923, in Redbank Township, Armstrong County, a daughter of the late Ivan Donald and Hazel (Blose) Raybuck.

May 15, 1943, she married Lester O. Brosius, who preceded her in death March 17, 2009.

Mrs. Brosius was a homemaker and a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church and attended Meade Chapel. She was also a member of the DAR in Brookville.

She was a Sunday School teacher, elder, financial secretary and Sunday School treasurer for many years at the Knox Dale Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Knox Township Volunteer Fire Department since 1972.

Mrs. Brosius was a member of the Presby Ladies' Aid, Summerville Homemakers, Brookville Senior Citizens, District Six Sunday School Association and served as publicity chairman for the Jefferson County Sunday School Association.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Lester O. Brosius Jr. of Summerville and Stanley Brosius and wife Melany of Brookville; two daughters, Joanne Leonard and husband Skip of Willamsport and Ruth Brosius of Markton; a daughter-in-law, Janet Brosius of Corsica; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dean Brosius; two brothers, Ivan Raybuck and Clyde Raybuck; two grandchildren, Cheri Lynn and Jason Jay Brosius; a great-granddaughter, Cassandra Brosius; and a daughter-in-law, Vicki L. Brosius.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Bernard P. Snyder Funeral Home, Reynoldsville. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Guy Felmlee officiating.

Interment will follow in the Coolspring Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Meade Chapel and Knox Township Fire Department.
