Lois P. Smochek, 83, died Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center in Punxsutawney.

She was born Aug. 12, 1929, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late John R. and Ardna (McCracken) Bell.

She was married to William P. Smochek, who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2011.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving relatives include a son, William Bell and wife Chris of Mahaffey; a step-daughter, Mrs. Gary (Sandra) Roseman of Mahaffey; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Smochek of Mahaffey; five grandchildren, Mrs. Brandon (Holly) Marusa of Marion Center, Pa., Mrs. Shawn (Alycia) Gottschalk of New Kensington, Pa., Kayla Bell and fiance Dennis Mumau of Punxsutawney, Christy Cramer of Mahaffey and Mrs. Greg (Billie Jo) Hipps of Curwensville, Pa; and four great-granchildren, Michael, Alex, Jayden and Kylee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-son, William Smochek Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.

At the family's request, there will be no public visitation.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
