Lois L. “Sis” Shaffer, 78

Lois L. “Sis” Shaffer, 78, a guest at Jefferson Manor, Brookville, and formerly of Coolspring, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Jefferson Manor.

She was born Jan. 5, 1933, in Pine Creek Township, a daughter of the late Wilbert Byron and Twila Rebecca (Osborne) Wolfe.

Sept. 11, 1952, in Brookville, she married Lee Shaffer, who preceded her in death Jan. 28, 2009.

Mrs. Shaffer was a homemaker and worked as a seamstress at the Brookville Glove Factory for more than 15 years

She attended the Coolspring Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Oliver Township Firemen’s Ladies' Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Coolspring Community Senior Citizens Center, and she enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family.

Surviving relatives include two sons, James L. Shaffer Jr. of Coolspring, and Kevin Shaffer and wife Diane of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Deb Campbell of Brookville; two brothers, Arthur Wolfe Sr. and Ernie Wolfe, both of Brookville; four sisters, Donna Stahlman of Roseville, Montrose Wonderling and Alice Forsythe, both of Brookville, and Judy Phillips of Reynoldsville; and two grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Gertrude Wolfe; and three brothers, Clint Wolfe, Don Wolfe and Jack Wolfe.

Friends will be received from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011, at the funeral home with Jeff Stahlman officiating.

Interment will be in the Coolspring Cemetery, Oliver Township.
