Lois C. Huffman, 80

Lois C. Huffman, 80, of Juneau, passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Mrs. Huffman was born June 15, 1934, in Falls Creek, a daughter of the late Albert B. and Margaret (Jones) Chittester.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ben Lee Huffman, of Juneau.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney.

Lois worked as an operator for Bell Telephone before retirement, where she was a member of the Pioneers Club.

She was a member of the Pine Street Senior Center and Brockwayville Depot.

She loved crocheting, baking, crafting, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ben, she is survived by one son, Ben Lee Huffman Jr. and wife Paula of Reynoldsville; one daughter, Mary Ellen Anderson and husband Lester of Juneau; two sisters; Eleanor Hepler and husband Robert of Falls Creek, and Shirley M. Britton of Monroeville; one brother, Albert B. Chittester and wife Jessie of Hamburg, New York; four grandchildren, Cheryl Smith and husband Kip, Sarah Anderson and husband Kevin, Heather Hess and husband David, and Kelly Schweiger and husband Doug; 11 great-grandchildren, Kaleb Anderson, Gavyn Anderson, Brayden Wyant, Tylar Schweiger, Leigha Schwieger, Jaiden Anderson, Payton Keen, Ava Schweiger, Lena Hess, Travis Hess and Jace Kurtz; 12 nieces; and four nephews.

She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jeremy Lee Anderson; one great-grandchild, Myla Smith; and an infant brother, Leonard Chittester.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas C. Spiker, Punxsutawney Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Interment will be private at Beechwood Cemetery.

Donations may be made in Mrs. Huffman’s name to the Punxsutawney Hospital Patient Care Fund, the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
