Local officials hold school safety forum

A Community Forum regarding school security and safety was held at Punxsutawney Area High School on Tuesday.

The forum was sponsored by the Punxsutawney Area School District and Punxsutawney Borough Council, and the panel consisted of members of various areas of law enforcement, as well as first responders and school administrators.

Jamie LeVier, Pennsylvania State Police community services officer; Chuck Cressley, Jefferson County EMS, director; Ben White, Punxsutawney Borough manager; and Carl Gotwald, Sr., Jefferson County sheriff.

The moderators were Thomas Chelgren, Cindy Depp-Hutchinson and Brian Smith.
