Jim Grant, secretary of the Jefferson County Fair Authority, has received this year's Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture Outstanding Fair Ambassador of the Year Award.

Grant joined the Grange about 60 years ago and was involved with the fair in Sykesville from about 10 years after that.

He has been working with the Jefferson County Fair since its inception and became secretary of its authority in 1994.

Grant also received a State Senate citation from Scarnati, and Smith issued a statement on his behalf.
