Lloyd E. Fisher, 73

Lloyd E. Fisher, 73, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Mr. Fisher was born Nov. 11, 1939, a son of the late Lloyd E. Fisher Sr. and Rose (Lorenzo) Fisher.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara L. (Sheesley) Fisher, of Hamilton.

They were married Feb. 22, 1964.

Mr. Fisher was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served two tours in Vietnam, two tours in Germany and three years in Panama before retiring as a Sgt. 1st Class after 20 years and receiving the Purple Heart.

Lloyd enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, electrical work and time with his family.

He was Catholic by faith.

He was a member of the American Legion, Punxsutawney Eagles and the Walston Club.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by a son, Ernest L. Fisher and wife Bernadette of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Melissa Adams and husband Douglas of Hamilton and Leslie J. Malburg and husband Westley of Punxsutawney; 11 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, at McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2013, at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Young officiating.

Interment will follow at Hamilton White Church Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army and the Jefferson County Veterans’ Memorial Honor Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Fisher’s name to the Hamilton Youth Center, Hamilton, PA 15744, or the donor's choice.
