Lillian LoNeva “Lonne” (Lewis) Kalus, 77

Lillian LoNeva “Lonne” (Lewis) Kalus, 77, Glen Campbell, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at her home.

She was born Jan. 15, 1934, in Clearfield, a daughter of the late Nelson O. and Frances L. (Yeager) Lewis.

Nov. 12, 1957, she married Carl “Charles” Kalus, who preceded her in death Aug. 25, 2002.

Mrs. Kalus was a member of the Glen Campbell United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed music, playing piano and singing. She also enjoyed reading.

She was a 1951 graduate of Clearfield High School and a 1954 graduate of the Clearfield School of Nursing.

Mrs. Kalus was a registered nurse for many years. In 1996, she retired from Miners Hospital after 27 years of employment. She also served on the Banks Township Election Board for 15 years.

Some of her favorite pastimes were spending time with her family, her flowers and in the outdoors surrounded by nature. Over the years, she provided care and homes for many pets — dogs, cats and even the occasional deer.

Surviving relatives include three sons, Timothy C. Kalus and wife Crystal E. of Glen Campbell, Matthew E. Kalus and wife Kelly L. of Eustis, Fla., and Andrew J. Kalus and friend Loren Neto of Clymer; three grandchildren, Johanna Renee Smelko and husband Curtis, Zachary Andrew Kalus and Gabrielle Victoria Kalus; and her many beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five siblings, Florence Snyder, Cliff Lewis, Octa Adamson, Fred E. Lewis and Nelson O. Lewis Jr.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Rairigh Funeral Home Ltd. in Hillsdale.
