PUNXSUTAWNEY — Library Days continue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this week, with Ice Cream Day today at Fezell's County Market in the Groundhog Plaza.
The event is a week-long fund-raiser for the Punxsutawney Memorial Library.
"With all the budget cuts of other libraries, we like to do everything we can to keep our library open," library board Vice-President Barbara Burkett said.

This year's Library Days will have 50/50 drawings, a daily silent auction, raffle tickets to win many donated prizes and Plinko for young ones to win door prizes, as well as hot dogs, pizza, and drinks, all of which have been donated by local merchants.

Today features ice cream by Gallikers.

Last year, the event brought in more than $8,000 in proceeds for the library. This year, there is more than 100 volunteers signed up to work the event in the hopes of bringing in more people.

"The town of Punxsutawney really comes forward to help us every year," Burkett said. "We hope to make even more this year."
