Lewella J. "Sally" Minick, 84, Brookville, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Stanton, Pa., a daughter of Ran Sowers and Sidney Enterline Sowers.

She was married to Melvin M. Minick, who preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1981.

Mrs. Minick worked for Sylvania and Whitebrook in Brookville, and she retired as an LPN from Jefferson Manor in Brookville after many years.

She was a past member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Brookville.

During her retirement, she loved playing and singing music and hymns for various church groups and organizations.

Surviving relatives include a son, Melvin R. Minick of Brookville; three sisters, Dorothy Barnett, Betty Barnett and Jane Fidel, all of Erie; two grandchildren, Tracy Miller and Mike McCracken; three step-grandchildren, Kelly Matthews, Kristy McMasters and Kimberly Lyons; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Catherine Shaffer and Molly Minick; and a brother, Robert Minick.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at McKinney Funeral Home, Brookville, with the Rev. Ken Eddy officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Matthew's Cemetery in Ramseytown, Pa.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
