Leone C. Howard, 97, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in Dayton, Ohio.

She was born April 2, 1916, in Porter Township, Jefferson County, the daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Howard) Conway.

She attained an associate degree in criminology from IUP and was employed most of her life as a secretary for municipal governments.

She was married in Virginia on March 15, 1950, to Thomas Howard, Jr, who preceded her in death.

She was a Presbyterian by faith and was formerly a member of the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney before moving from the area.

She leaves, to miss her dearly and cherish the thought of her, a loving family which includes her daughter, Patricia (Gifford) Fetterhoff of Dayton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Thomas P. Fetterhoff and wife Joneen and Diane Renee Fetterhoff; two great-granddaughters, Tabitha N. Fetterhoff and Kristen M. Duttry; one great-great-granddaughter, Cassandra L. Duttry; one sister, Donna M. London; one brother, Patrick Conway and wife Joan; one sister-in-law, Audrey Young of Punxsutawney; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Charles Conway and John Conway; and by four sisters, Mary Roberts, Annamae Snedden, Shirley Conway and Dorothy Rice.

Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney, on Sunday, July 7, 2013, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, July 8, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 8, 2013, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Brett Swanson officiating.

Interment will follow at the Zion Cemetery in Porter Township.
