Lenard L. McMillen, 70

Lenard L. McMillen, 70, of Mahaffey, passed away after an extended illness on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at DuBois Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 14, 1942, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Norman McMillen and Ruth (Burkett) McMillen.

He married the love of his life, Diane "Kitten" (Painter) McMillen, of Mahaffey, on Aug. 13, 1966.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during Vietnam.

Mr. McMillen worked for the Wal-Mart Distribution Center before retiring.

He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Punxsutawney.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Nugget.

In addition to his wife, Diane "Kitten," surviving relatives include two sons, Lenard L. McMillen Jr. and wife Nicole and Marty L. McMillen, all of Mahaffey; two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Jean Marshall and husband Larry, all of Punxsutawney.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward McMillen and W. Dale McMillen; and a sister, Mae Haas.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey.

Additional viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, on which date a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Golembiowski and Pastor Roger McGary as officiants.

Interment will be private for family.
