Lee Lukehart, 72

Lee Lukehart, 72, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born July 22, 1941, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanne (Bidwell) Lukehart.

She worked at the Punxsutawney Historical and Genealogical Society.

She enjoyed quilting, making stained glass, making kaleidoscopes and interior decorating.

She lived in Florida for 10 years and also in Alabama for another 10 years and then returned to Punxsutawney to be near her brother.

She was a very caring and intelligent individual who was cherished by her children and adored by her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Chip Johnston of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Joie Johnston of Cliffside Park, N.J., and Michael Mayes of Birmingham, Ala.; and her grandchildren, Kelci and Stephen Johnston, and Roland, Ryland and Michael Mayes.

She will join her parents and her brother, J. Kipp Lukehart, in their eternal rest.

Family and close, personal friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the residence of Leo E. Johnston, Jr., 118 Fairview Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767, for a time of gathering and remembrances.

Interment is private and will be at Circle Hill Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
