Laura M. “Lolly” Carr, 70, Ridgway, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born April 25, 1944, in Brookville, a daughter of the late Thornton B. and Bernice L. (Fitzgerald) McNeil.

On Sept. 26, 1963, she married Peter S. Carr, who survives.

She was an avid artist, cook and baker and enjoyed watching the Food Network. But most of all, she loved being a grandmother.

She was the local Red Cross representative for the Ridgway area and a former Worthy Advisor for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls.

She worked as a physical therapist’s assistant in St. Mary’s for around 10 years.

She was her husband’s best friend.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include two sons, Jeffrey Carr and wife Brenda of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and David Carr and wife Michelle of Fort Hood, Texas; five grandchildren, Brett, Lana, Mickayla, Hunter, Holly and Bethany; one great-grandchild, Layne; one brother, David McNeil and wife Darlene of Indiana, Pa.; two sisters, Margaret “Peggy” McNeil of Mt. Lebanon, Pittsburgh, and Susan McNeil Widziunas and husband Stanley of Huntersville, North Carolina; a nephew, Bryan McNeil and wife Amanda; a niece, Heather McNeil; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends will be received from noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A memorial service will be held in Ridgway at a later date.

Interment will follow visitation at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sigel, Pa.
