Larry "Joe" Joseph Sprankle, 53, of York, Pa., formerly of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.
He was born July 24, 1959, in Punxsutawney, a son of Larry G. and Judy (Niel) Sprankle.
He was married to the former Ruth Buchholz.
He was a plumber by trade.
He is survived by his parents, Larry G. Sprankle and Debbie Watkins of Falls Church, Va. and Judy Sprankle and David Horensky of Punxsutawney; his wife, Ruth Buchholz Sprankle; three sons, Steven Sprankle and wife Lisa of Mahaffey, Pa., and Robert Sprankle and Denver Sprankle, both of Altoona, Pa.; three sisters, Laurie Sprankle of Punxsutawney, Mrs. Jason (Susan) Martino of Punxsutawney and Mrs. Norman (Jeanne) Smith of Glenwood Springs, Colo.; and a grandson, Damian Sprankle.
Friends will received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the funeral home with the Very Rev. John Horosky officiating.
The family suggests that donations in memory of Joe be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
