Larry Allen Martz, 50

Larry Allen Martz, 50, of Mayport, died suddenly on Sunday, March 23, 2014, near Hagarstown, Md., as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born Jan. 22, 1964, in Punxsutawney, a son of Mervin and Shirley (Smith) Martz.

He was married to Penny Marie Meckley on Sept. 25, 1993, in Ringgold.

He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Local 66 of the Operating Engineers.

He is survived by his mother, Shirley Martz; his wife; his beloved daughter, Nickita Martz and boyfriend Morgan Fetterman; and his beloved son, Carter Martz, all of Mayport; one brother, Terry Martz and wife Pammy of Mayport; two sisters, Leigh Shoop and husband Don of Mayport and Patty Magagnotti and husband Bill of New Bethlehem; three brothers-in-law, Bill Vallies and wife Marlene of Punxsutawney, Jeff Bottenhorn and wife Lisa of Sprankle Mills, and Patrick Meckley of Punxsutawney; his mother-in-law, Marlene Meckley of Punxsutawney; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his special friends at the Windy Whiz Camp, Mark and Tawn; and by his faithful companion, Riley.

He was preceded in death by his father; and by his father-in-law, Bob Meckley.

At the family's request, there will be no public visitation, and services will be private at the convenience of the family.

The family requests that donations in memory of Larry be made to the Ringgold Fire Department in Ringgold, or to the American Heart Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
