HARMONY — The Lady Chucks picked up their second win of the season Thursday night as Punxsy traveled to Harmony and earned a convincing 54-31 win to push its record to 2-4 on the season.

The Lady Chucks jumped out to a 14-6 first-quarter lead before pulling away in the second frame to make it 26-11 at halftime.

The second half was more of the same for Punxsy as the Lady Chucks used swift ball movement and sharp shooting to increase its lead to 41-24 after three quarters before putting things away in the fourth.

Leading the charge offensively was Jenna Reitz, who knocked down five three-pointers to account for her 15 points.

"We attacked the gaps, and (Jenna) found the open areas and shot the ball pretty well tonight," Punxsy head coach Randy Reitz said.

Johnna Depp finished with 11 in the win.

Alex MaGill followed with nine points while Parris Kernich added eight in the win.

Senior Shawnna Crago chipped in six points and snagged a game-high 11 rebounds.

While the offense was taking care of business, Punxsy's defense got the job done as well, an area that Reitz was pleased with.

"The girls communicated very well and moved their feet well, and they need to continue to do that," Reitz said.

Reitz hopes the team can carry that momentum into next week's Holiday Tournament, one in which Punxsy hosts.

"Hopefully it helps our confidence," Reitz. said. "We shot the ball well in the second half against Clearfield, and that carried over into tonight."
