Ken Thom benefit dinner is Saturday

There will be a benefit lasagna dinner for Ken Thom this Saturday, Nov. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Grange Church of God.

Back in June, Ken had a heart valve replacement. The surgery went well, and he was able to go home to Ridgway.

July 11, Ken ended up back in the ICU in Pittsburgh after contracting pneumonia. He was in a medically induced coma for more than a few months.

Sept. 17, Ken was flown to the Cleveland Clinic.

On Sept. 28, he was alert and able to watch television.

Ken needs a double lung transplant. He has been through numerous surgeries and continues to work on building his strength.

While Ken and his wife, Sue, life in Ridgway, his dad and stepmom, Philip and Kitty Thom, along with his sister and brothers, Becky Kunselman, Michael Thom and Joe Thom, live in Punxsutawney.

His grandmother is the late Elaine Gearhart.

Ken has two other sister, Wanda Lorenzo of Ridgway and Sandy Preston of Brockway.
