Kathy K. (Stewart) Simon, 63, Erie, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at her residence following a brief illness.

She was born June 30, 1947, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Thomas and Martha (Myers) Stewart.

Ms. Simon had resided in Erie since 1968.

She retired from Seaway Manufacturing Company after 30 years of employment. She had previously been employed part-time by the Barber National Institute and Hamot Medical Center. She especially enjoyed shopping.

Surviving relatives include her three beloved sons, James Simon, T.J. Simon and Danny Simon and wife Valerie, all of Erie; five grandchildren, Alicia, Hanna, Tim, Tessa and Jacob; a dear cousin, Cindy Chudy of Wheaton, Ill.; a good friend, Faye Jarmolowicz of Erie; and her godchild, Kevin Speice, currently serving in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Stewart.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011, at the Dusckas Funeral Home Inc. East, 2607 Buffalo Rd., Erie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011, at the funeral home.

Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
