Kathryn Virginia Humble, 84

Kathryn Virginia Humble, 84, of Punxsutawney, died Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born Dec. 28, 1929, in (MacGregor) Dayton, a daughter of the
late John William and Mary Violet (Hinderliter) Beck.

On May 1, 1944, she married John Jay Humble. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1990.

Mrs. Humble was a member of the Grange Church of God.

She enjoyed going to church, being with family, yard sales and watching “Little House on the Prairie” and “The Waltons.”

She is survived by six children, David Franklin Humble of Indiana, Shirley Kay (Shannon) Rimer of Punxsutawney, John J. (Linda) Humble of Punxsutawney, Vince E. Humble of Georgia, Vivian E. (Tom) Racca of Louisiana, and Terrence (Jennifer) Humble of Punxsutawney; 13 grandchildren, Jered D. Humble, Shannon Rimer, Stacey Depp, Tracy Rimer, Deana Cappella, Becky Siceloff, Vincent M. Humble, Alyssa Humble, Lauren Humble, Jessica Racca and Jordan, Evan and Nicholas Humble; four great grandchildren, Robyn Depp, Conoran McKenzie, Tiffany Humble and Casey Siceloff.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, George William Humble; two brothers, Charles Irvin Beck and Donald L. Beck; and one sister, Velma Manners.

Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Janis Bracken.

Interment will follow at St. Jacob’s Cemetery.
