Katherine E. “Katch” Shiock, 83, Punxsutawney, died Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Wellington Heights Personal Care Home.

She was born April 15, 1931, in Anita, a daughter of the late John and Anna (Vosko) Lavosky.

On Aug. 18, 1956, she married Bernard J. Shiock, who preceded her in death on Jan. 26, 2003.

She was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Anita.

She worked at the Adrian Hospital as an X-ray tech for 20 years and then worked for the district magistrate’s office.

She enjoyed listening to polka music, singing and dining out.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Kathleen Pulford and husband Frank of Punxsutawney; a son, Michael Shiock of Punxsutawney; and daughters Jean Marshall and husband Dave of Anita, and Joan Manners and husband Tom of Reynoldsville; a granddaughter, Brandy Brudnock and husband Kirk; and one great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Brudnock.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ann Levosky; and three brothers, George, William and John Levosky.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 11, 2014, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2014, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, in Anita, with Monsignor Joseph Riccardo officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Shiock, may be made to VNA Family Hospice or to St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will be at Adrian Anita Roman Catholic Cemetery.
