Karen Leigh Davis, 53, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born July 3, 1959, in DuBois, a daughter of the late Edward Leo and Helen Marie (Carol) Mitcho.

On June 3, 1983, she married Kevin Charles Davis, Sr.

She was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church.

Mrs. Davis was a home ec teacher for the Punxsutawney Area School District.

Her enjoyments were cooking, having a good laugh with her family and spending time with them, and the family dog, Tanner.

She was a strong woman who endured difficult times with the undying love and support of her husband, Kevin.

She was greatly anticipating the arrival of her first granddaughter in
September.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include three sons, Kevin L. Davis, Jr. and wife Jenna, Philip Davis and fiancée Sarah Urchuck and Eric Davis; special nieces Michelle Doyle and husband Brian of Roseville, Mich., and Melissa Kendrick and husband Jake of Anita; and a great-niece and great-nephew, Emma and Nathan Kendrick.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.

A funeral Mass will held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, officiated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family strongly requests and asks please that memorial donations be made in Karen’s memory to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, N.Y. 10163.
