Karen E. Ishman, 61

Karen E. Ishman, 61, Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

She was born April 4, 1950, a daughter of the late Harold Stuck and Hilda (Shields) Stuck-Lunger.

She was married to Jacob Ishman, who survives, of Punxsutawney.

Mrs. Ishman fought a lengthy battle with breast cancer but found solace in the love and strength of the Lord Jesus Christ.

She was a member of the Salvation Army and leader of the S.A. Women’s Group. She was also an avid plastic canvas and cross stitcher.

Mrs. Ishman's favorite times were visiting with family and friends. She loved her cats and all animals.

In addition to her husband, surviving relatives include three daughters, Rebecca McKinney and husband Charles of Titusville, April Stear and husband Michael of Punxsutawney, and Bridget Ishman of Punxsutawney; a brother, David Shields of Rossiter; three sisters, Mary Stamler and husband John of Cleveland, Ohio, Ellen Bishop and husband Warren of Marchand, and Donna Gallagher of Rossiter; a granddaughter, Virginia Rose McKinney; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffery Ishman; two grandchildren, Allen and Benu McKinney; and her step-father, Ralph Lunger.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, at the McCabe Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at the funeral home with Captains Keith and Katie Jache officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
