Karen Diane Edwards, 66, El Monte, Calif., died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011, at Arcadia Methodist Hospital in Arcadia, Calif.

She was born April 24, 1944, in Sarasota, Fla., the daughter of James E. and Faye (Young) Martz, who survive.

Sept. 16, 1967, she married Thomas G. Edwards, El Monte, Calif., who survives.

A member of the St. James Lutheran Church of Ringgold, Mrs. Edwards was retired after 45 years of teaching.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Edwards is survived by two sons, Jeffrey J. Edwards and wife Margaret of Monrovia, Calif., and Chris G. Edwards of Pomons, Calif.; a sister, Barb Augustino of Wexford; and two grandchildren, Jacob J. Edwards and Alyssa L. Edwards, both of Covina, Calif.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the funeral home with Pastor Arlene Schweitzer officiating.

Interment will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Ringgold.
