Judy Lundy, 71

Judy Lundy, 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2014, in Warren, with her family by her side.

She was born on Feb. 1, 1943, in Punxsutawney, the daughter of the late Paul and Mary London.

Judy graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School in 1961 and would go on to work for Lakeview Local Schools, where she was the secretary at Cortland Elementary.

She retired with more than 30 years of service to her community in 2009.

In her free time, Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, knitting, reading, walking her dog, Molly, and watching sports on TV.

Memories of Judy will be carried on by her family, including her husband of 52 years, Joe, whom she married on Sept. 16, 1961; her daughter, Laurie; sisters Carole (Eileen) London, Kathy (Maynard) Lahti and Mary Ann (Byron) Shaffer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the Cortland Christian Church, with the Rev. Donald Barnes as pastor.

Friends will be received prior to the start of the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.

In honor of Judy’s memory, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Lakeview Elementary, care of Cortland Banks, 194 West Main St., Cortland, Ohio 44410.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Shafer-Winans Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes.
