Josephine Shema, 78, Punxsutawney, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Christ the King Manor, DuBois.

She was born April 11, 1933, in DeLancey, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Shutyak) Shema Sr.

Ms. Shema was a retired loan officer with S&T Bank with more than 30 years of service. She was also a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

Surviving relatives include a niece, Linda Wadell; and three nephews, Larry Shema, William Shema and Andy Shema.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, William Shema, John Shema Jr. and Joseph Shema; a sister, Helen Starr; and a niece, Betty Ann Morris.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A Parastas service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, at the funeral home.

The Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Fr. Simeon Sibenik officiating.

Interment will follow at the Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery.
