Joseph Peter Pascuzzo, 90

Joseph Peter Pascuzzo, 90, Flint, Mich., died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at his home.

He was born March 29, 1922, in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Philip and Margaret (Marzonie) Pascuzzo.

June 21, 1947, he married Joan L. Rohner, who survives, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flint.

Mr. Pascuzzo retired from the Flint School Board in 1985, where he was also known as “Mr. Joe."

He was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, and was a veteran of the AAA Fast Pitch Softball League of Flint for many years.

He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.

In addition to his wife, surviving relatives include his children, Michael of Durand, Mich., Maribeth of Flint, Joseph and wife Rachel of Durand; a daughter-in-law, Candace Pascuzzo; seven grandchildren, Deanna, Michael, Jill, Robert, Sarah, Jessica and Gregory; many great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; three sisters, Marcela Care, Margaret and husband Bruce Mattarella, and Marigrace and husband James Flynn; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stephen; and a brother, Frederick.

A Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held 10 a.m. today at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 N. Elms Road, Flushing, Mich., with the Very Rev. Fr. David Hannes officiating.

Cremation will follow the services.

If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church.
