Joseph M. Carney Jr., 49, Norfolk, Va., died Jan. 26, 2012, in Virginia Beach, Va.

He was born in DuBois.

Mr. Carney was a concrete supervisor for J.M. Briggs Concrete Company.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed riding his Harley with his friends. He enjoyed life to the fullest.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Sandra Carney of Newport News, Va.; his fianceé, Daria Hohman; his father, Joseph M. Carney Sr. and wife Susan of Hamilton; five sisters, Brenda Carney of Bradenton, Fla., Debbie Yeager and husband Randy of Punxsutawney, Tammi Ward of Indiana, Tonia McEwen and husband Kevin of Sandy Lake, and Trina Carney of Punxsutawney; two brothers, Gale Davis of Phoenix, Ariz., and Edward Carney and wife Brandi of Hamilton; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosella Davis and step-father Gale Davis Sr. of Punxsutawney; and two sisters, Norma Carney and Cammi Wyant.

His funeral service was held Jan. 30, 2012, at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, and his final resting place is in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk.
