Joseph Lellock Jr., 90, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born May 29, 1920, in Sykesville, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Paholsky) Lellock.

He was married to Ethel Irene (Sivanich) Lellock, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Lellock was a carpenter and an honorary retiree with 50 years in the Carpenters' Union.

He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and three Bronze Stars.
He was a member of SS.C.D.

Surviving relatives include a son, Fred Lellock and wife Donna of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Patty Chambers and husband Doug of Punxsutawney and Marlene Downie and husband Bernie of Valrico, Fla.; two brothers, Nick Lellock of Punxsutawney and George "Bill" Lellock of Allentown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Lellock; and eight brothers and sisters.

At the family's request, there will be no visitation. Funeral services are under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, and are private at the convenience of the family.
