Joseph Lellock Jr., 90, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born May 29, 1920, in Sykesville, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Paholsky) Lellock.
He was married to Ethel Irene (Sivanich) Lellock, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Lellock was a carpenter and an honorary retiree with 50 years in the Carpentersâ€™ Union.
He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and three Bronze Stars.
He was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
Surviving relatives include a son, Fred Lellock and wife Donna of Punxsutawney; two daughters, Patty Chambers and husband Doug of Punxsutawney, and Marlene Downie and husband Bernie of Valrico, Fla.; two brothers, Nick Lellock of Punxsutawney and George â€śBillâ€ť Lellock of Allentown; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Adam Lellock; and eight brothers and sisters.
At the familyâ€™s request, there will be no visitation.
Arrangements are private and under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
