Joseph Bryan Lukehart, 43, Covington, K.Y., died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, in Punxsutawney.

He was born Aug. 27, 1969, in New Orleans, La., a son of J. Kipp Lukehart and Sharyn “Shug” (McLaughlin) Lukehart.

He was married to Molly (Godfrey) Lukehart, who survives.

He was an avid sports fan and golfer.

He loved his family and was a kind and caring person.

He graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School and attended Westminster College.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Lindsay and Meagan Lukehart.

Surviving relatives include his mother, Sharyn “Shug” (McLaughlin) Lukehart; his father, J. Kipp Lukehart and Patricia London; his sisters, Alexis (Lukehart) Hock and Ashley (Lukehart) Lundy; and his mother-in-law, Mary Godfrey.

A private family memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, with the Rev. Brett Swanson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Big Run Area Volunteer Fire Company, 105 East Main St., Big Run, PA 15715; or to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Little League.

The family would also like to thank the Big Run Area Volunteer Fire Company, other volunteers and the Pennsylvania State Police.
