Joseph Anthony Cianciotti, 67

Joseph Anthony Cianciotti, 67, of Punxsutawney, died Sunday, June 30, 2013 at home.

He was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Yonkers, N.Y., a son of Nicholas Cianciotti of Cape Coral, Fla., and the late Olga (Valesquez) Cianciotti.

On Oct. 8, 1988, he married the former Monica Sue Mikelonis. She survives.

They would have celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in October.

He was a member of Saints Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Cianciotti worked as a locomotive engineer for B&P Railroad for over 30 years.

Joe enjoyed golfing, and traveling, especially to the Bahamas.

He was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 0062, Punxsutawney Eagles, BPOE Elks and the Buffalo Lodge Amvets Post No. 200.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Nicholas John Cianciotti of Punxsutawney; a sister, Darcy Nation and husband James of Newbury Port, Mass.; his stepfather, Anthony Damore of White Plains, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Delia Cianciotti.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Saints Cosmas and Damian Church, officiated by Monsignor Joseph Riccardo.

Interment will follow at St. Peter's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Shumaker Funeral Home, Inc., Punxsutawney.
