John J. Landolfi, 82

John J. Landolfi, 82, Gainesville, Fla., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Veterans Hospital in Gainesville.

He was born Dec. 13, 1927, in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Cinque) Landolfi, who later moved to Edinburg.

He was married to Bonnie (Swanson) Landolfi, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Landolfi was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II.

He was a carpenter for a local union based out of Pittsburgh for many years, as well as the owner of the Town Pump Tavern in Punxsutawney for more than 25 years.

Mr. Landolfi later moved to Florida, where he owned and operated his own appliance business in Gainesville.

He was a great fan of the Florida Gators, and although he lived in Florida for many years, he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Surviving relatives include a son, Tony Landolfi and wife Connie of Bradenton, Fla.; a daughter, Terry (Landolfi) Riggins of Gainesville; four grandchildren, David Landolfi and wife Tandi of Dover, Kimberly (Landolfi) Hetrick and husband Barry of Punxsutawney, Michael Landolfi and wife Donna of Bradenton, and Cody Varner of Gainesville; seven great-grandchildren, Kelsey and Kamie Landolfi of Dover, Brilyn and Bailey Hetrick of Punxsutawney, Tanner and Lexie Landolfi of Bradenton, and Kiya Varner of Gainesville; and a sister, Mildred (Landolfi) Petro of Struthers, Ohio.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gregory and Paul Landolfi; and a son-in-law, Thomas Riggins.

In honor of Mr. Landolfi, contributions may be made to a veterans’ organization of the donor’s choice.
