John C. Spiers, Sr., 48

John C. Spiers, Sr., 48, of Punxsutawney, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.

He was born June 21, 1964, in Punxsutawney, the son of James Richard Spiers and Jemima C. (Hill) Spiers.

He enjoyed spending time with his children, fishing and working on vehicles.

He is survived by his mother; three sons, John C. Spiers, Dalton J. Spiers and Patrick A. Spiers, all of Punxsutawney; a daughter, Brittney Spiers and fiancé David Lichvar of Punxsutawney; a stepson, Michael Fisher of Punxsutawney; four brothers, Herb Hill and wife Mary Jo, Charles Spiers and wife Melody, Kenneth Spiers and wife Tammy, of
Punxsutawney, and Richard Spiers and wife Robin of Dayton, Pa.; two sisters, Ethel Storms and fiancé John Nulf of Rossiter and Mrs. Vincent (Linda) Sweed of Punxsutawney; two brothers-in-law, Gene Campbell of Rochester Mills, Pa., and Alan Womer of Mercer, Pa.; his former wife, Tammy Kephart; his former life partner, Roberta Fisher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; one son, Mark Allen Spiers; and two sisters, Joanne Campbell and Patty Womer.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, at the funeral home with Capt. Keith Jache officiating.

Interment will follow in Reynoldsville Cemetery in Reynoldsville.

The family requests that donations in memory of John be made to the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home.
