John Brocheys, 76

John Brocheys, 76, DuBois, passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, surrounded by family at his daughter's home.

He was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Big Soldier, a son of the late Arthur Brocheys and Mildred (Fye) Brocheys-Gaul.

He worked at Brockway Glass as a machine operator for 30 years and retired in 1990. Mr. Brocheys was a member of the VFW and the Glass Blowers' Association. He was an avid hunter, and many of his prize trophies are displayed in Dario's Bar.

Surviving relatives include two daughters, Jackie Canter and husband Andy of DuBois, and Jody Miller and husband Ed of St. Marys; three step-children, Cheryl Vardy of DuBois, Tom Vardy and wife Donna of Punxsutawney, and Paula Coyle of Clarington; step-grandchildren and great step-grandchildren; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Brocheys was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Pifer; a brother, Harold Brocheys; and his step-father, William Gaul.
A private family viewing will he held at 1 p.m. today at the Mohney-Yargar Funeral Chapel in DuBois.

A funeral service will be held immediately after with Rev. David Nagle officiating.

Full military honors will be accorded by the VFW Post No. 813 Honor Guard at the funeral home.
