Joann Virginia Kunkle Jeffries, 70, of Home, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
A daughter of Lyle W. and Virginia Bracken Kunkle, she was born Dec. 17, 1942, in Indiana.
Mrs. Jeffries was a graduate of Marion Center High School.
Joann was a caregiver and also a van driver for Indian Haven.
She was an animal lover and enjoyed gardening, yard work and all outdoor activities.
Joann was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by three children, Tanga L. Hopkins, of Punxsutawney, and Tuesday L. McConnaughey and Todd J. Monoskey, both of Home; a brother, Howard Kunkle of Shelocta; eight grandchildren: Mark A. Hopkins and wife Tricia and daughter Gracen; Taylor L. Hopkins; Daniel J. Edward âD.J.â Hartzell; Amber L. Hartzell and friend Stephen, and her daughter, Elaina; Kendra J. McConnaughey; Nikki Kay Monoskey; Allix H. Monoskey; and Kaylee J. Monoskey; numerous nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, Molly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, John S. Bracken; her stepmother, Martha Kunkle; and a sister, Linda K. Kunkle.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today at Robinson-Lytle, Inc.,
Indiana, with Pastor Chris McNutt officiating.
Interment will be in Smicksburg Cemetery.
